Spanish architect Alberto Campo Baeza has designed a house that is par the imagination of the normal. When I read about this brilliant house, I felt we should all take a pause from our hectic lives & imagine what it would like to be living in the lap of nature, literally. (Scroll down for the pictures)
Nothing more and nothing less.

Alberto has designed and built a surreal house – House Of The Infinite- on a paradise, at Cádiz. Well, only recently I discovered that Cádiz is the southernmost part of mainland Spain, as well as the southernmost part of continental Europe. When I saw House Of The Infinite, the first fleeting thought in my head was- If I had to choose a place to embrace death, this would be it.
The Earth sings for those who listen!

Campo Baeza, describes the building as “the most radical house we have ever made”.
The phenomenal architect says that this house is built on a stone platform at the very edge of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, where the sea unites the new and the old continent. One of the reasons it is named the House Of The Infinite because it has a horizontal plane on high built in stone, Roman travertine. It gives the illusion of sand, an infinite plane facing the infinite sea.

“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink wild air…”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
The upper level of the building contains rooms dedicated to social gatherings, including a living room with a circular skylight overhead and a covered balcony in the front. From the living room extends to a simple yet elegant kitchen & a huge dining area.

I told you my first fleeting thought when I read about the House Of The Infinite. What are you thinking while going through pictures? And yes, this isn’t a fantasy house, this exists.
If you are also as intrigued about the architect of this incredible house, then we are on the same page (mentally as well!).

Born in Valladolid in 1946, Alberto Campo Baeza’s grandfather was an architect. Alberto lived in Cádiz from the age of two. He grew up & graduated from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 1971 and went on to complete his PhD in 1982 and became the Chairman and Professor of the same institution in 1986. A book of his collected writings, La idea Construida, is in its 10th edition and a monograph of his work, “Campo Baeza 1971-1996”, and was published in Spain by Ed.
I hope you had an amazing time reading this post. Do share youth thoughts, feedback and love with me!
